On 19 June 2024, the Association of Clearing & Forwarding Agents (ACFA) Sri Lanka successfully hosted its seminar on “Non-Compliance and the Risk of Liability Through Ignorance of Narcotics” at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute Auditorium.
The seminar attracted *over 150 participants* from the shipping, logistics, customs, transport, courier, and import/export sectors, reflecting the industry’s strong interest in strengthening compliance and awareness.
The expert panel featured *Deshabandu M.R. Latiff, Former Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police, **Mr. Nuwan Abeynayake, Deputy Director of Customs – Narcotics Control Unit, and **Mr. Seevali P. Arukgoda*, Additional Director General of Customs – Revenue & Services. Through their presentations and discussions, the panel shared valuable insights into narcotics-related risks, legal responsibilities, and the collective role of industry stakeholders in protecting the integrity of Sri Lanka’s supply chain.
